Hi, we're Jan and Matt. We live in Denver, Colorado and have 4 wonderful kids who (despite being wonderful) can be a bit messy. We started Bolderglow in 2023 with the goal of creating fun new glow-in-the-dark products for kids that allow them to express their creativity using just light.

We've spent countless hours engineering our products from scratch to ensure they have the brightest glow possible. We source cutting edge photoluminescent materials that are 100% non-toxic and child-safe. Our products are built to last—fully reusable, endlessly fun, and perfect for open ended play.

Jan earned her PhD in biology at MIT, where she spent years studying the brain using one of science’s tiniest superheroes: the fruit fly. She can proudly say she’s made more than a few of them glow green in the name of neuroscience. (Yes, they glowed. No, they didn’t gain superpowers—unfortunately.)

Jan's passion for science and curiosity-driven learning, combined with Matt's enthuasism for innovation and design, eventually led to Bolderglow - where science meets play. Together, we’re dedicated to building toys that spark creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning.
